Jefferson County Middle/High School Student, Zackary Bell, joined peers February 19 - 20, 2015 in Orlando, FL during the 2015 Sunshine State Scholars program. Bell was recognized as the district's highest-achieving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) student. Bell is a member of JROTC at Jefferson County Middle/High School where he serves as Battalion XO (Chief Executive Officer). Bell has aspirations of joining the United States Navy and pursuing a career in engineering.
During the event, scholars recognized teachers in their district who have significantly influenced and guided them. Bell chose Mr. Wille Saffo, STEM Mentor Teacher and Advisor at JCMHS. "This is indeed an honor to have been chosen by one of your students. To know that you have touched and made a positive difference in the lives of your students is an awesome feeling and I thank Zack. We are extremely proud of Zack and congratulate him on his accomplishments," said Mr. Saffo.
Congratulations Zack! The Jefferson County School District wishes you the best of luck on your future endeavors!
