I'm underage. What do I need to do to take the High School Equivalency Diploma test?
All students under the age of 18 must have an Underage Waiver prior to scheduling your test. In Florida, a student who is 16 or 17 is required to meet the conditions set by the school district. You will have to meet the conditions set forth by your school district before the Underage Waiver will be granted by the school district representative. You must contact Sherman Stroman or Vicki Boland from the Jefferson County School District for information on the specific requirements for testing.
Once you meet the requirement, this staff member will be responsible for notifying the Florida High School Equivalency Diploma testing office. Once this Underage Waiver has been submitted to the office, it will be processed within 3-5 business days of receipt. If you have any questions about the underage testing process, please contact the Florida High School Equivalency Diploma testing office at 850-245-0449.
